About the funder

The Melete Foundation is a non-profit scientific funding foundation under civil law based in Munich. It was founded by attorney Henning Hiersemenzel and Dr. Sigurd Pütter to bring together science and investors, thereby accelerating application-oriented research in Germany. The foundation supports innovative and sustainable projects in the fields of biosciences, medical technology, and environmental technologies, primarily through private donations (approx. 70%) as well as public grants (approx. 30%). Previous funded projects include several initiatives of the Fraunhofer IME, Helmholtz Munich, TU Ingolstadt, as well as international projects such as Bangalore Robotics.
