About the funder
The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Areas, Europe and Consumer Protection of the State of Schleswig-Holstein (MLLEV) is a supreme state authority based in Kiel. It was established in its current form in 2022. The ministry is responsible for sustainable and future-oriented agriculture, the strengthening of rural areas, forestry, fisheries, European policy, and consumer protection. Subordinate authorities include the State Office for Agriculture and Sustainable Rural Development as well as the State Laboratory Schleswig-Holstein. Well-known programs: LEADER funding program, agricultural subsidies, EU structural fund co-financing.

Mission & Vision
The MLLEV is committed to sustainable and forward-looking agriculture that supports family farms in food security, climate protection, nature conservation, and animal welfare. It promotes innovative and sustainable measures in rural areas, pursues active European policy through the Hanse Office in Brussels, and empowers consumers to make informed and responsible decisions.
Target groups
Target groups are agricultural enterprises and family farms in Schleswig-Holstein, actors and municipalities in rural areas, fisheries on the North and Baltic Seas, as well as consumers. Projects for rural development within the framework of EU programs such as LEADER are also funded. Geographical focus: State of Schleswig-Holstein.
