Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM)

The Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) supports economically and culturally promising film and media productions in the federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia. All project phases are funded – from material and project development through production, distribution, and marketing to screening, presentation, as well as other measures and training initiatives. A prerequisite for funding is proof of regional cultural and economic effects: at least the approved amount must be spent in Central Germany. Furthermore, the MDM promotes the Central German media location at markets, trade fairs, and festivals and represents the interests of the regional media industry.

MDM targets production companies and media enterprises that realize their projects entirely or predominantly in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, or Thuringia. Funding is provided for audiovisual projects in all phases, from the idea to market launch, as well as training and further education measures for professionals and junior staff in the Central German media industry.
