Nachwuchs-Stiftung der Numismatischen Kommission der Länder
About the funder
The Nachwuchs Foundation of the Numismatic Commission of the States was established in 2012 with the aim of sustainably promoting emerging talent in numismatics in Germany and thereby strengthening the entire field of numismatics. It primarily funds the Walter Hävernick Prize, which honors outstanding scientific work by early-career researchers. To ensure this commitment in the long term, especially in view of limited public funds, the foundation relies on donations. These support training at numismatic institutions, research activities, and subject-related travel for young numismatists. Donors receive a tax-privileged donation receipt.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to promote emerging numismatic scholars in Germany through financial and non-material support. We are committed to recognizing outstanding research, facilitating the training of young scientists at specialized institutions, and strengthening their national and international networking. In this way, we contribute to the advancement and future viability of numismatics.
Target groups
The funding measures are aimed at early-career academics in the field of numismatics in Germany. In particular, students, doctoral candidates, and young researchers engaged with numismatic issues are addressed. Support is provided for theses (Master’s, doctoral, habilitation), research projects, advanced training at numismatic institutions, and academic travel.
