Neuwieder Bürgerstiftung

The Neuwied Citizens' Foundation is a legally capable, non-profit foundation under civil law based in Neuwied-Oberbieber. It was recognized on November 28, 2023, by the Supervisory and Service Directorate Trier (Ref.: 15678-1902/23). The foundation primarily supports projects in the Neuwied city area in the fields of science and research, education and upbringing, sports (including swimming), arts and culture, international understanding, nature and environmental protection, local heritage preservation, monument conservation, youth and elderly care, healthcare, as well as customs and traditions. Its responsibilities notably include the operation and management of the Oberbieber Family Outdoor Pool.

Our goal is to sustainably strengthen the social, cultural, and ecological life in Neuwied. We support initiatives and institutions that promote young scientists, educational institutions, sports clubs, cultural projects, environmental and nature conservation measures, as well as local social and health services. Through targeted funding and our own project involvement, we create a solid foundation for a vibrant urban community while simultaneously contributing to the common good.

The funding measures are primarily aimed at individuals, groups, and institutions connected to the Neuwied urban area. This includes young researchers (up to 35 years old), public and private schools, universities and research institutions, non-profit sports clubs, cultural and educational institutions, initiatives in the fields of environmental and landscape conservation, social and health organizations, as well as initiatives for the preservation of local heritage and customs. Individuals and projects outside Neuwied may also be supported, provided there is a thematic or local connection to the city.
