About the funder
The Otto and Emma Horn Foundation is a legally recognized civil law foundation based in Meißen. It was established according to the will of Ernst Otto Horn (1880–1945) in memory of his parents, Otto and Emma Horn. The foundation supports charitable purposes in the fields of monument preservation and protection, education and upbringing, cultural purposes, as well as elderly care. In particular, it promotes the preservation of listed buildings and restoration measures, supports initiatives benefiting the Meißen City Museum and other tax-privileged organizations dedicated to the research of Meißen’s history and local heritage, as well as institutions serving education, upbringing, or elderly care.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the city of Meißen as well as to sustainably strengthen the educational and social landscape. The foundation acts in accordance with its founder Ernst Otto Horn by generating, collecting, and distributing financial resources to tax-privileged institutions in order to enable and secure monument preservation, local history, cultural projects, education, and senior assistance in the long term.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at non-profit corporations, associations, and institutions based in or focusing their projects in the Meißen area, dedicated to monument preservation and protection, the study of city history, cultural activities, education, upbringing, or elderly care. A prerequisite is recognition as a tax-privileged organization according to §§ 52–54 AO.
