Mission & Vision

The foundation regards education, science, and research as crucial foundations for the economic, technological, cultural, and social development of our society. Its goal is to strengthen the competencies of young people, particularly in the natural and engineering sciences, to initiate innovation processes, and to promote cultural initiatives. It aims to network young scientists, support excellence projects, and contribute to sustainable development in the Baltic Sea region.

Target groups

Applicants can primarily be young scientists, researchers, technicians, and cultural practitioners, particularly students and doctoral candidates in the natural and engineering sciences from Schleswig-Holstein and, in individual cases, from Baltic Sea neighboring states. Eligible for funding are projects by legal entities or partnerships (e.g., universities, research institutions, non-profit associations) as well as, in special cases, private individuals. Funded projects are those whose results are made accessible to the public.
