About the funder
The RWE Foundation gGmbH is a non-profit private foundation of RWE AG based in Essen. Established on the occasion of RWE AG’s 125th anniversary, it was endowed with initial capital of €125 million. Its goal is to promote and support charitable and benevolent projects in Europe over the long term, leveraging its own expertise. The focus is on initiatives to improve equal opportunities as well as international and intercultural understanding. The foundation awards funding starting from €20,000 and aims for sustainable impact, scalability, and close cooperation with public stakeholders.

Mission & Vision
"Acting responsibly together" has been part of RWE's DNA for 125 years. With the RWE Foundation, we aim to channel our entrepreneurial energy into providing young people, regardless of their background, with access to education and social participation. Through targeted support and partnerships, we strengthen intercultural networking and equal opportunities in Europe.
Target groups
Non-profit organizations and projects in Europe are supported, whose offerings primarily target socially disadvantaged children and young people. The aim is to support educational, upbringing, and exchange programs that open up new perspectives for young people, promote intercultural understanding, and thereby contribute to greater social participation in the long term.
