About the funder
The Sandra Völker Foundation (SVS) is a private, non-profit foundation founded by world-class swimmer Sandra Völker after she was diagnosed with bronchial asthma in 2000. For over ten years, the SVS has supported those affected, informed interested parties, and connected partners on the topics of asthma and allergies. It follows a holistic approach and does not primarily view asthma and allergy sufferers as patients, but aims to show them that despite a chronic illness, a normal, active life is possible.

Mission & Vision
Our mission statement "Strong Despite Asthma!" is dedicated to teaching children and adolescents with asthma and allergies to confidently manage their condition from an early stage. Through education, providing up-to-date information on treatment and therapy options, as well as presenting alternative methods, we aim to open new perspectives for those affected and their families and support their participation in sports and everyday activities.
Target groups
The funding and information services of the SVS are primarily aimed at children and adolescents suffering from asthma and allergies, as well as their relatives. In addition, the foundation supports institutions and professionals working with affected children and provides information on asthma and allergies to the general public.
