About the funder
The Schmidt-Adler Foundation is a private foundation established in 2001 from the estate of Else Schmidt and Max Adler on the initiative of prominent figures from Weil der Stadt. Its purpose is the promotion of art and culture as well as the preservation and operation of the listed building at Stuttgarter Straße 62. Central activities include exhibitions of the painter Karl Brändle, support for the Weil der Stadt Local History Association (Heimatverein Weil der Stadt e. V.), collaborations with the city on art exhibitions and concerts, its own event series, the promotion of other non-profit cultural associations, the acquisition and renovation of the historic house as an exhibition and event venue, and the voluntary operation of the inn "Rössle," which has existed since 1782. The foundation is a member of the Weil der Stadt Trade Association (Gewerbeverein Weil der Stadt) and the German Foundation Association (Deutscher Stiftungsverband).
