Promotion of Art and Culture (Schmidt-Adler Foundation for Art and Culture)

The Schmidt-Adler Foundation for Art and Culture has been committed since 2001 in Weil der Stadt to promoting creative projects and preserving historical heritage. Endowed with the donation from Else Schmidt and Max Adler, the foundation's assets include an extensive collection of paintings by the artist Karl Brändle. The focus is on in-house exhibitions, the presentation of works by regional artists, as well as concerts held in historic venues. Carriers of non-profit associations and public institutions benefit from financial grants to realize art exhibitions, concerts, or roof-supporting restorations in the listed building at Stuttgarter Straße 62. Furthermore, the traditional inn “Rössle” is operated on a voluntary basis as a vibrant event venue, opening spaces for cultural and media formats in a unique ambiance.

Eligible for funding are exclusively non-profit organizations, associations, and municipal institutions based or active in Weil der Stadt that pursue their statutory objectives in the fields of culture, music, monument protection, infrastructure, or urban development. The foundation supports both the city administration as well as local heritage associations and other non-profit initiatives in implementing concepts for cultural revitalization. Applications for grants can be submitted at any time; a formal funding status and proof of non-profit purposes are prerequisites for the award. Interested institutions thus have ongoing opportunities to participate in the rich offerings of the Schmidt-Adler Foundation and jointly contribute to cultural diversity and the preservation of listed buildings in Baden-Württemberg.
