Senator für Wirtschaft Häfen und Transformation Bremen

The Senator for Economy, Ports and Transformation Bremen is the supreme authority of the State of Bremen for economic policy management. As a state ministry and municipal administration, it is responsible for the promotion of businesses and innovation, the development and operation of the ports of Bremen and Bremerhaven, as well as the strategic transformation of the regional economy. The authority consolidates responsibilities for commercial planning, digitalization, foreign trade, market supervision, and EU funding law.

Our mission is to sustainably strengthen the economic location of Bremen/Bremerhaven by promoting future-oriented industries, further developing port infrastructure, and supporting digital transformation. We create favorable conditions for start-ups, SMEs, and international investors, secure jobs, and drive innovation in key industries such as aerospace, logistics, and information and communication technology.

The funding programs are aimed at companies of all sizes and sectors in Bremen and Bremerhaven – from founders and startups to small and medium-sized enterprises as well as globally operating large corporations. Also targeted are research institutions, universities, associations, investors, and public institutions involved in innovation projects, port development, or digital infrastructure expansion.
