About the funder
On April 8, 2014, the Catholic Parish Association of the Verbandsgemeinde Unkel, with the support of the Archdiocese of Cologne, founded the Senfkorn Foundation – Unkel. The goal is to build a permanent foundation capital, the proceeds of which will continuously provide financial support to institutions such as the local kindergarten, the family center, as well as projects and activities of pastoral care and social services on site. The foundation is supervised by the foundation authority of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, the tax office, and the Archdiocese of Cologne. Additional endowments are possible at any time, and donations to the foundation’s capital stock are tax-advantaged.

Mission & Vision
"Help that lasts!" – The Senfkorn Foundation – Unkel aims to strengthen pastoral care and social services in the Catholic pastoral area of Verbandsgemeinde Unkel in the long term by preserving and expanding a sustainable foundation capital, thereby promoting community life sustainably.
Target groups
The funding is aimed at church and non-profit institutions within the pastoral area of the Verbandsgemeinde Unkel, particularly the kindergarten and family center, as well as projects and activities in the fields of pastoral care and social services. The goal is to provide ongoing support to people of all ages and life situations within the Unkel catchment area.
