About the funder
The Sparkassen-Sportstiftung Main-Kinzig is a non-profit foundation based in the Main-Kinzig district, established in 1984. It supports talented young athletes aged 14 and above as well as their coaches, who are organized within the more than 580 gymnastics and sports clubs in the district. The main funding instrument consists of annual scholarships of up to €1,000 to assist with training and competition expenses. Additionally, the foundation awards the Dr. Harald Schmid Prize for exemplary youth work in regional sports clubs.

Mission & Vision
The Sparkassen-Sportstiftung Main-Kinzig is committed to providing young talents with optimal conditions for their athletic and personal development. We believe in the empowering force of sports for discipline, team spirit, and social integration. Our goal is to bind dedicated athletes to their home clubs in the long term and thus sustainably strengthen the sports landscape in the Main-Kinzig district.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at athletes aged 14 and over who belong to a non-profit club affiliated with the Hessian State Sports Association in the Main-Kinzig district and have already demonstrated success at the state level or beyond. Furthermore, the foundation supports regional sports clubs with the Dr. Harald Schmid Prize, which recognize outstanding and exemplary youth work in the areas of youth, health, and social engagement.
