About the funder

The Spital- und Spendfonds Überlingen is a public-law civic foundation with roots dating back to the year 1264. It is sponsored by the city of Überlingen, with the municipal council acting as the foundation board under the chairmanship of the mayor. The foundation manages extensive real estate, forest areas, and agricultural land, the proceeds of which are allocated to charitable, social, benevolent, and ecclesiastical purposes in Überlingen. Among its core responsibilities is the operation of the St. Franziskus and St. Ulrich nursing and care homes, offering a total of 155 full inpatient long-term care places, short-term and day care services, as well as supplementary support services.

Mission & Vision

According to the current foundation charter, the Spital- und Spendfonds serves charitable, social, benevolent, and ecclesiastical purposes in Überlingen. Its goal is to ensure needs-based care for poor, sick, and elderly residents through sustainable management of assets and real estate, and to promote projects that strengthen social cohesion and quality of life at Lake Constance.

Target groups

The primary target group consists of needy, ill, and elderly residents of Überlingen and the surrounding area who require care or support services. At the same time, the foundation addresses citizens who wish to promote charitable engagement in the region through donations, endowments, tree sponsorships, or project participation.
