About the funder
The Sports Foundation of the City of Burgwedel was established on December 20, 2004, to ensure the long-term financial support of sports in the city of Burgwedel. It is a municipal foundation whose purpose is to award grants to sports clubs in Burgwedel and to solicit donations from third parties. The foundation supports all areas of sports and physical activity – from training equipment and youth development programs to construction measures at sports facilities, as well as integrative projects and collaborations between clubs and schools. The financial resources are provided by the city’s own funds and by endowments from third parties. The allocation of funds is the responsibility of the foundation’s bodies, consisting of the board, advisory council, and foundation committee.

Mission & Vision
The Sportstiftung der Stadt Burgwedel has the mission to sustainably strengthen local sports and promote equal opportunities in sports. It provides funding to enable clubs of all sizes to access resources, support young talents, and expand inclusive and intergenerational programs. Through continuous and flexible financing models, the foundation aims to contribute to a vibrant and diverse sports landscape in Burgwedel.
Target groups
Eligible to apply are non-profit, sports-active clubs based in the city of Burgwedel. Both grassroots and competitive sports projects, youth tournaments, senior competitions, inclusive sports programs, as well as collaborations between sports clubs and educational institutions are supported. The foundation targets clubs that wish to further develop their organizational structures through grants, implement infrastructure measures, or realize innovative sports and movement projects.
