About the funder
The Sportstiftung Pfalz was established in 2008 by the Sportbund Pfalz and is a legally recognized public foundation under civil law with charitable status granted by the Kaiserslautern tax office. The foundation's goal is to promote sports in the Pfalz region sustainably – encompassing both recreational and school sports as well as competitive sports. Furthermore, it supports Pfalz sports museums and sports history promotion associations. The foundation complements public sports funding and the work of the Sportbund Pfalz in selected funding areas, without replacing existing funding structures. Funding for professional sports is excluded.

Mission & Vision
The Sportstiftung Pfalz is committed to ensuring that movement, sport, and play make a valuable contribution to social cohesion. In close cooperation with the Sportbund Pfalz, it supports projects and initiatives that provide sustainable impetus to sports clubs, schools, and cultural sports organizations. The foundation aims to strengthen the diversity of sport, reward commitment, and secure the sports culture in the Palatinate for the long term.
Target groups
Funding is provided to Palatinate sports clubs (recreational and competitive sports), sports departments of schools, sports museums, as well as sports history support associations in the Palatinate. The target group includes non-profit organizations and institutions that contribute to promoting physical activity, the cultural processing of sports history, or the further development of sports infrastructure in the region.
