About the funder

The Stiftung BauKulturerbe gGmbH was founded in 2019 by Dr. Diana Wiedemann with the aim of preserving historic buildings and particularly valuable architectural heritage in Germany. It sees itself as an independent platform for the exchange of information and experiences, the networking of actors and organizations, as well as the dissemination of knowledge on the management of historic building fabric. Key activities include information services, publications, training courses, and projects such as the operational concept for the decommissioned Freiburg gas sphere.

Mission & Vision

The Stiftung BauKulturerbe gGmbH is committed to the preservation of architectural heritage in Germany. Our mission is to raise awareness of historic building fabric, to impart expertise and best practices in dealing with old buildings, to strengthen civic engagement for architectural culture, and to connect professionals, administrations, initiatives, and interested parties in order to jointly further develop the architectural heritage.
