Non-profit organization

About the funder

The Stiftung Begegnungsstätte Gollwitz was founded in 2001 to create an open meeting place for Jewish and non-Jewish people. Since its opening in 2009, the Begegnungsstätte in the historically restored Gollwitz Castle has provided space for education, encounters, overnight stays, conferences, and events. It is aimed at groups from different cultural backgrounds, religions, and age groups and promotes exchange and understanding between people of diverse backgrounds through seminars, workshops, and youth encounters.

Mission & Vision

The foundation aims to promote understanding and tolerance among people of different religions, nationalities, origins, and cultures, thereby counteracting a renewed rise of anti-Semitism and racism in Germany. Through educational and encounter programs, it seeks to strengthen democratic values, make Jewish life visible, and contribute to peaceful coexistence in Brandenburg and beyond.

Target groups

The foundation's offerings are aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults within the framework of extracurricular political education and youth participation; multipliers and professionals (teachers, educational supervisors); groups and individual guests from diverse cultural backgrounds, religions, and age groups seeking education, encounters, or conferences; as well as organizations and decision-makers to be sensitized to democracy education, antisemitism prevention, and diversity.
