About the funder
The Bücher-Dieckmeyer Foundation for the Promotion of Church Music in Bavaria, established in memory of Karl Richter, has been supporting the church music tradition in Bavaria since 1994. Founded by Ingrid-Maria Bücher from the estate of her grandparents Karl Gustav and Bertha Hedwig Dieckmeyer, it commemorates the renowned conductor Karl Richter (1926–1981) in its name. Key funding instruments include the awarding of prizes to outstanding church musicians, ensembles, and institutions, as well as the support of young church musicians, particularly through creative youth work.
