About the funder
The CO2 Foundation is a non-profit private foundation established in 2019/2020 and based in Augsburg, dedicated to combating climate change in the transport sector. It supports bold, creative, and disruptive projects, campaigns, and local citizen initiatives to achieve a genuine transformation of mobility and thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the long term. As a young foundation, it particularly promotes initiatives by non-profit associations and organizations that effectively shape the mobility transition through political and social engagement.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is to advance the transport transition with radical yet necessary measures by providing a platform and financial support to bold and disruptive initiatives. We are convinced that climate neutrality cannot be achieved without decisive framework conditions and societal action. Therefore, we strengthen projects that effectively foster confidence and change in both urban and rural areas.
Target groups
The target group of the CO2 Foundation consists of non-profit associations, initiatives, and individuals who aim to contribute to the transformation of transportation with their projects. Funding is provided particularly for cycling advocacy, campaigns for car-free city or village centers, as well as other mobility initiatives that are politically effective, sustainably designed, and locally implementable.
