About the funder
The Stiftung der Passauer Neuen Presse – Dr.-Hans-Kapfinger-Stiftung was founded in 1967 by the founder and publisher of the Passauer Neue Presse, Dr. Hans Kapfinger, as a legally capable public foundation under civil law. It is under the legal supervision of the Government of Lower Bavaria. The foundation is dedicated to promoting youth, sports, art, science, literature, journalism, and traditions within the distribution area of the Passauer Neue Presse. Another purpose is to support elderly and disabled former employees of Passauer Neue Presse GmbH as well as needy persons in emergencies within the distribution area.
The foundation is engaged in three main areas:
* **Individual Cases:** Support for families and individuals who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own.
* **Projects:** Promotion of social projects by non-profit organizations as well as volunteer institutions and associations.
* **Cultural Projects:** Support of contemporary art and culture, especially children’s and youth culture.
