About the funder

The Stiftung der Volksbank Lübbecker Land and Volksbank Schnathorst "From People for People of Our Region" was founded in 2010 and serves as a local funding instrument in the Lübbecker Land region (between Dümmer and Werre). It exclusively and directly pursues charitable, benevolent, and ecclesiastical purposes in accordance with §§ 52–54 AO. Its foundation purpose is to strengthen the community and promote civic responsibility—through financial grants in the form of subsidies, scholarships, awards, and similar support measures. Initiatives, associations, and institutions that implement sustainable projects in the fields of science and research, youth and elderly care, arts and culture, monument preservation, environmental and nature conservation, welfare, sports, and local heritage are supported, thereby improving the quality of life in the region in the long term. The foundation acts selflessly, finances exclusively statutory purposes, and also enables the establishment of its own foundation funds under its umbrella.

Mission & Vision

"From People for People of Our Region" is both a program and a guiding principle: The foundation specifically promotes self-initiative in the rural homeland to enhance its attractiveness and quality of life. It focuses on sustainability and helping people to help themselves by supporting projects with a project character that strengthen our region in the heart of East Westphalia. Accessibility for all committed individuals is paramount.

Target groups

The target group comprises non-profit individuals, groups, initiatives, associations, and institutions in the Lübbecker Land (North Rhine-Westphalia) and adjacent areas (e.g., neighboring Lower Saxony). Projects supported include those in the fields of arts and culture, youth and elderly care, education and vocational training, monument preservation, nature and environmental protection, welfare, sports, local heritage preservation, as well as all other initiatives that create something sustainable and enhance the quality of life for people in the region.
