About the funder

The Foundation of the Württemberg State Sports Association was established in September 2009 by the committees of the WLSB to create an additional, long-term pillar for financing club sports in Baden-Württemberg alongside public funding. Starting from a principal sum of one million euros, primarily derived from the sale of WLSB shares in the Stuttgart Sports Clinic, the foundation annually provides funds of up to 15,000 euros for exemplary club projects. Initiatives and activities in recreational, competitive, and youth sports, as well as projects with a high potential for replication, are supported. Particular consideration is given to voluntary engagement within sports clubs.

Mission & Vision

The Foundation of the Württemberg State Sports Association aims to sustainably secure the future of sports in the region by supporting sports clubs in implementing innovative and exemplary projects. Through targeted financial support, the foundation contributes to strengthening health, community, and talent development, and recognizes the voluntary commitment that sustains club life in Baden-Württemberg.

Target groups

The target groups of the funding programs are sports clubs and associations in Baden-Württemberg that are engaged in recreational, competitive, or youth sports. The focus is on initiatives that have a model character and serve as examples, passing on important knowledge and experience to other clubs. The foundation specifically targets projects that strengthen voluntary work and contribute to the improvement of sports offerings in the areas of health, prevention, and cooperation between clubs.
