About the funder
Since 1967, the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe has been the most important private sports funding initiative in Germany. With responsible and creative support concepts, it annually assists around 4,000 junior and elite athletes both financially and ideologically – from talent development and career planning to personal development. Supported athletes account for 90% of Germany’s successes in international competitions, including 294 Olympic gold and 372 Paralympic gold medals. The foundation operates as a non-profit, independent organization and is primarily financed through fundraising and partnerships.

Mission & Vision
We give our all to enable elite athletes to perform at world-class levels and become role models. As a non-profit foundation, we pursue the goal: "to support athletes […] both ideologically and materially through all appropriate measures." Our core values of performance, fair play, and togetherness guide us in optimally supporting athletes and conveying societal values.
Target groups
The target group of the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe consists of junior and elite athletes from Olympic, Paralympic, non-Olympic, and deaf sports, as well as independent action sports athletes. Approximately 4,000 athletes benefit annually, including around 2,000 young talents, from Sporthilfe’s talent, potential, and top-level support, which includes basic financial funding, individual support services, and career guidance.
