About the funder

The Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation was established in 1967 and is the most significant private initiative for the promotion of elite German sports. It supports junior and elite athletes both financially and ideologically, accompanying them in their professional and personal development. With needs-based, efficient, and transparent funding concepts, Sporthilfe makes a substantial contribution to approximately 90% of the medal successes of German athletes at international competitions.

Mission & Vision

Since its founding, the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe has been committed to comprehensive sports promotion. Our goal is to support athletes in every phase of their careers in a performance-, potential-, and needs-oriented manner—both on the path to international success and in their professional and personal future planning.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe are aimed at junior and elite athletes in Germany. Support is provided to nationally selected athletes competing internationally in all Olympic, Paralympic, Deaf, and non-Olympic sports to secure their athletic performance as well as their dual career alongside studies and work.
