About the funder

The Stiftung für Bernau was officially established on August 27, 2009, following initial preparatory work since 2002 and the founding of the "Stiftung Bernau, gemeinnützige GmbH" in 2006, and was confirmed as a legally capable foundation under civil law on July 15, 2011. Starting with initial capital of €57,500 – consisting of €30,000 from the municipality and €27,500 from a private donation – the foundation's capital grew to €100,000 by 2011. Additionally, in 2017, the foundation inherited approximately €60,000 and real estate valued at a minimum of €300,000. Since then, it has continuously awarded funds from interest income, donations, and proceeds to support charitable projects in the Bernau am Chiemsee community area.
