About the funder

The Foundation for People and the Environment is a non-profit foundation established in 2010 by Dr. Corinna Hölzer and Cornelis F. Hemmer, without an endowment capital. Its primary focus is on promoting biodiversity in cities and municipalities, particularly through the creation of near-natural green spaces, educational programs, and public relations. Its core activities include the nationwide planting network "Germany Buzzes!", natural garden planning for companies and residential neighborhoods, press and campaign work, as well as the development of environmental education materials (e.g., bee kits for daycare centers and schools). The foundation is managed by the Environmental Forum for Action and Cooperation e. V., which acts as trustee.

Mission & Vision

The Foundation for People and the Environment is committed to creating and permanently protecting habitats for animals, plants, and humans. Through natural green spaces, environmental education, and networking projects, we strengthen awareness of biodiversity. Our goal is to mobilize the public, municipalities, businesses, and educational institutions to jointly implement sustainable, responsible projects and thereby preserve biological diversity in Germany.

Target groups

The foundation's offerings are aimed at a broad spectrum of stakeholders: citizens, housing companies and tenants, municipalities and planning offices, commercial enterprises (especially those based in Berlin and Brandenburg), educational institutions (daycare centers, schools), environmental organizations, and the media. Donors and sponsors who wish to commit to nature and climate protection in the long term are also addressed.
