About the funder
The Stiftung Gewässerschutz Weser-Ems is an independent, legally capable foundation under civil law based in Brake (Lower Saxony). Its purpose is the protection and improvement of groundwater and surface waters as well as adjacent ecosystems in the Weser-Ems region in accordance with the European Water Framework Directive. The foundation promotes and implements operational measures, such as the renaturation of flowing and still waters, creation of pond biotopes and groundwater models, and supports environmental education and public relations work. Eligible for funding are legal entities under private and public law that contribute with their projects to the purification of drinking and utility water, soil conservation, and sustainable use of water resources. The foundation awards non-repayable grants, emphasizes co-financing and transparent use of funds, and is a partner in the "Nature Network Lower Saxony."

Target groups
Legal entities under private and public law are eligible for funding, in particular associations, federations, initiatives, and institutions with professional qualifications that plan and implement specific projects in the field of water protection in the Weser-Ems region. Individuals, politically motivated organizations, and non-tax-privileged purposes are excluded from funding.
