About the funder

The Heilig Kreuz Foundation was established in 2009 as a community foundation of the Catholic parish of Detmold. It is a legally capable foundation under public law (a canonically independent pious foundation) and aims to support ecclesiastical and social tasks that cannot be financed from the parish’s general budget. The foundation funds projects and activities within the Pastoral Association Lippe Detmold and operates entirely on a voluntary basis. The funds are used 100% to fulfill the foundation’s purposes. A voluntary foundation board manages the foundation, which is supervised by a foundation council that also sets the funding principles.

Mission & Vision

At the center of our actions is the human being in all their diversity. Our goal is to help where there is need and to create connections between people: young and old, women and men. According to the founder's will, the Heilig Kreuz parish in the Lippe Detmold pastoral association is to be strengthened in carrying out its tasks "humanely, faithfully, and vibrantly." The building blocks in our statutes are our fields of activity. We always act with the awareness of doing something good for people in need of assistance.

Target groups

The Heilig Kreuz Foundation supports projects and activities of the Detmold parish that pursue one of the four foundation objectives. The target group includes children and young people from families with limited financial means, people in social distress who receive unbureaucratic and empathetic support, church music initiatives and the "Friends of Church Music" circle to maintain church music at a high level, as well as measures to preserve and further develop the church locations and buildings of the Pastoral Association Lippe Detmold.
