To this end, it supports non-profit institutions and organizations dedicated to the protection, preservation, research, and communication of Lower Saxony’s natural and cultural heritage. A particular concern is the promotion of education in the fields of nature and environmental protection, historic cultural landscapes, monument preservation, archaeology, Low German language, Sater Frisian, as well as state and regional history. Additionally, there is a focus on supporting volunteer work in homeland preservation. Since December 2013, the foundation has also managed the foundation fund of the parent foundation, limited to Grasdorf on the Leine.
