Stiftung Hospiz Haus Geborgenheit

The Stiftung Hospiz Haus Geborgenheit is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, based in OT Neustadt/Harztor. It operates the Hospiz Haus Geborgenheit, which has been supporting critically ill and dying individuals in their final phase of life, as well as their relatives, for 14 years. The facility has 12 bright single rooms, with an average occupancy of approximately 26 days, and a team of around 20 staff members. The focus is on palliative care, individualized pain therapy, and a homely, secure atmosphere. Cooperation partners include, among others, the Lungenklinik Neustadt GmbH and the palliative care unit of the University Hospital Göttingen. Operations are financed 95 percent by health and nursing insurance funds and 5 percent by donations and grants.

The Stiftung Hospiz Haus Geborgenheit affirms life until the very end and is dedicated to providing people in their final phase of life with an environment full of security, dignity, and respect. An interdisciplinary team of palliative care-trained nurses, physicians, chaplains, therapists, and volunteers ensures holistic support, promotes self-determination, and also assists relatives in their grief.

The target group consists of terminally ill and dying individuals who require professional, compassionate care in a home-like environment during their final phase of life, as well as their relatives who seek support, counseling, and care during this challenging time.
