Stiftung Kraftwerk Hirschfelde

Private foundation

About the funder

The Kraftwerk Hirschfelde Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in the Lusatian mining region. Approved by the Saxony State Directorate in June 2009, it is dedicated to the research and dissemination of industrial heritage, energy history, future energy developments, and technology acceptance. Originally established under the name "Technical Monument & Museum Kraftwerk Hirschfelde Foundation," it recorded and documented the technical heritage of the former power plant site before flood damage and structural closures in 2014 led to a realignment. Today, it supports third parties both ideologically and materially (financially and in kind) in the implementation of its statutory objectives.
