About the funder
The legally established foundation under civil law of Sparkasse Hannover and the Hannover Region was founded in 1997. It currently has an endowment of 22 million euros and promotes art and culture in the Hannover region through competitions, awards, scholarships, and its own event formats. Its assets include the Weser Renaissance Castle Landestrost in Neustadt am Rübenberge, whose preservation and maintenance are also among its responsibilities. From the interest income, the foundation supports projects in visual arts, music, literature, dance, theater, and interdisciplinary initiatives, as well as regional festivals and youth programs.
