Stiftung Mitteldeutscher Kulturrat
About the funder
The Stiftung Mitteldeutscher Kulturrat is a non-profit foundation under private law based in Bonn, established in 1976. It traces its origins to the Mitteldeutscher Kulturrat e. V., founded in 1955, and pursues exclusively charitable purposes. The foundation's objective is the cross-regional preservation of Central German contributions to German culture. Until reunification, it highlighted the shared history of all Germans in the Federal Republic through events and publications. Today, it supports cultural activities in Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Thuringia, Berlin, Brandenburg, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania through conferences, lectures, and subsidies for printing costs. Since 1994, the Central German Yearbook for Culture and History has been published, and since 1995, the quarterly Kultur Report.
