About the funder

The Sustainable Living Foundation was established at the end of 2006 by Dr. Marie-Luise Meinhold and Dr. Olaf Tidelski in Munich. Aligned with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, it supports ecological and socially oriented initiatives worldwide. It preferentially funds projects that combine innovative, entrepreneurial thinking with fair and sustainable implementation. Since 2010, it has been active as a silent equity partner, for example in the solar social business Bonergie in Senegal or through participation in programs by Plan International.

Mission & Vision

The foundation aims to strengthen civil society engagement that combines ecological or social action with entrepreneurial thinking. Through our funding, we seek to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and to empower people worldwide to manage resources responsibly and fairly.

Target groups

Non-profit initiatives, social businesses, and project sponsors that develop sustainable solutions for energy supply, education, equality, and environmental protection in Germany and internationally are supported. The focus is on projects that pursue innovative entrepreneurial approaches and thereby achieve long-term impacts for disadvantaged regions or population groups.
