About the funder

The PfalzMetall Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. It was established in 2007 by the PfalzMetall Employers' Association with initial capital of 10 million euros; in 2019, the foundation's capital was increased to over 20 million euros. The foundation primarily supports STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) across the entire educational spectrum from daycare to university. Additionally, it supports projects in the fields of art, culture, and social affairs, as well as STEM networks in the Palatinate region. It is one of the largest private foundations in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Mission & Vision

To inspire enthusiasm for research and discovery and to encourage children's desire for a self-determined life. The foundation stands for an open society with fundamental openness to technological possibilities for improving life and promotes STEM education without economic self-interest.

Target groups

Children and young people of all grade levels (from daycare to upper secondary), students, caregivers, as well as teachers at primary, special, secondary, and vocational schools in the Palatinate (Rhineland-Palatinate). Educational networks (daycares, schools, universities) as well as selected initiatives from the fields of art, culture, and social affairs in the region are also supported.
