About the funder

The Schmarloh Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Lachendorf. It was established in 2008 by landowners of the Schmarloh wind farm, who allocate a portion of the lease income to the foundation. The foundation's goal is to financially support community life in the municipality of Hohne and to strengthen voluntary engagement. To this end, it continuously grants subsidies to non-profit associations active in the fields of education, children and youth, culture, media, music, social affairs, sports, science, research, innovation, as well as vocational training and continuing education. The decision on the allocation of funds is made by the board, usually at two meetings per year.
