About the funder
The Stiftung Staatsoper Hannover is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Hanover. Founded in 2005 by committed citizens and supported by the Society of Friends of the Hanover Opera House e. V., it promotes exceptional productions and projects of the Staatsoper Hannover in the fields of opera, concert, and ballet both ideologically and financially. It initiates and supports gala concerts for the opening of the seasons, special events, and innovative mediation and educational formats to strengthen the regional and supra-regional significance of the institution. The office is located in the Old Town Hall, Karmarschstraße 42, c/o Sparkasse Hannover.

Mission & Vision
The Stiftung Staatsoper Hannover is committed to keeping the cultural heritage of the Staatsoper Hannover alive and further developing it by supporting projects that combine artistic excellence with social relevance. The goal is to make opera, concert, and ballet visible beyond the regular season, to reach new target audiences, and to enhance the house’s impact. Through both idealistic and financial support, the foundation contributes to the realization of outstanding artistic endeavors.
Target groups
The funding supports the Staatsoper Hannover itself as well as artists, orchestras, choirs, and educational institutions that realize opera, concert, and ballet projects. Special attention is given to innovative outreach and educational projects that especially inspire young people and children for the art form and enrich the cultural offerings in Hannover.
