About the funder
The Wertebündnis Bayern Foundation was established in 2015 by the Free State of Bavaria and builds upon the Wertebündnis Bayern network founded in 2010. In this partnership network, over 200 organizations, associations, federations, and foundations from all sectors of society are committed to promoting values education among children, adolescents, young adults, as well as educators and those responsible for education. Through jointly developed and implemented projects – ranging from political education and democracy training to appreciation of regional food products, as well as art, culture, sports, and STEM initiatives – the foundation creates real-life experiential spaces for value-oriented action.

Mission & Vision
The Wertebündnis Bayern Foundation is committed to raising awareness of fundamental societal values such as responsibility, tolerance, justice, and solidarity. It actively promotes values education through participatory educational processes and creates spaces for young people to reflect on, practice, and live these values autonomously. Together with alliance partners, the Foundation aims to contribute to democratic culture and social cohesion in Bavaria.
Target groups
The foundation's offerings are aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults throughout the Free State of Bavaria, as well as at educational and upbringing professionals (teachers, educational specialists) and multipliers from civil society, politics, and culture. The goal is to design value-forming educational processes in an age-appropriate and inclusive manner, in order to strengthen value competence and discourse ability in all the aforementioned groups.
