Mission & Vision

The SGD South aims to create a balanced reconciliation between economic concerns, environmental and climate protection, and societal interests through uniform, legally secure, and efficient approval procedures as well as environmentally and citizen-oriented advisory services. As a modern and future-oriented authority, we rely on transparency, participation, and the sustainable development of the regions in southern Rhineland-Palatinate.

Target groups

The services of the Struktur- und Genehmigungsdirektion Süd are aimed at municipalities, companies, and private individuals who require permits and planning approvals in the areas of environmental, water, construction, and commercial law. It also supports project sponsors – from infrastructure projects and industrial settlements to land consolidation – and advises specialist administrations, environmental associations, as well as interested citizens in approval procedures, environmental impact assessments, and participation processes.
