Mission & Vision
The Ulrich Wickert Foundation is committed to ensuring that girls and boys can realize their rights in the areas of education, health, protection, and participation – as stipulated by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Through long-term self-help projects and an annually awarded journalism prize, the foundation aims to raise societal awareness of children's rights and empower young people to advocate for their rights.
Target groups
The funding and award programs of the Ulrich Wickert Foundation are aimed, on the one hand, at journalists and media professionals who draw attention to violations and advancements of children's rights worldwide through reports and contributions. On the other hand, the foundation supports children and young people in Plan partner countries, particularly through media projects and long-term aid measures, to strengthen their opportunities for participation and their self-confidence.
