Umverteilen! Stiftung für eine solidarische Welt

Umverteilen! is a legally recognized, non-profit foundation under civil law based in Berlin, committed since its founding in 1986 to global justice and solidarity. It maintains thematically and regionally structured working groups (including Africa, Asia, Latin America, "One World – Here!", Women, Climate) and a meeting center, Afacan, in Turkey. The foundation supports grassroots projects aimed at radical change from the root, which engage in educational, cultural, and public relations work critiquing poverty, oppression, and global power structures. With limited resources, it supports individual projects through donations or project-specific grants.

We are committed to a world of solidarity in which the responsibility of industrialized countries for poverty, oppression, and inequality in the Global South is recognized and communicated. Our goal is to support grassroots groups and initiatives that achieve significant impact with modest resources and provide transformative education for global justice. In doing so, we promote diversity, independent action from governments, and a mix of different funding sources.

Eligible for funding are non-profit groups, associations, and initiatives that conduct grassroots educational, cultural, and public relations work on global economic and development policy issues in Germany, neighboring countries, and the Global South. This includes local "One World" working groups, youth meeting centers, self-help and women's initiatives, as well as climate and human rights projects that work radically on systemic change with small budgets.
