About the funder
The VBW Foundation is a legally recognized civil law foundation established in 2016, the 100th anniversary year of VBW Bauen und Wohnen GmbH, and is based in Bochum. It supports charitable projects in the fields of youth and elderly care, education and upbringing, as well as welfare services. Its focus is on the sustainable development and revitalization of neighborhoods in Bochum, in close cooperation with local neighborhood initiatives, neighborhood experts, and practitioners. The foundation supports volunteer-led projects with financial resources, spaces, and consulting, guided by the values of humanity, tolerance, equal opportunity, solidarity, community proximity, and self-determination.

Mission & Vision
