About the funder

The VR Foundation of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken in Northern Germany is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, based in Hanover. It was established at the end of 1990 by the VR Prize Savings Association e.V. and is financed exclusively from the net proceeds of VR Prize Savings. The foundation supports charitable projects in the fields of art and culture, monument and local heritage preservation, education and upbringing, assistance for the disabled, elderly care, nature and environmental protection, as well as international understanding and tolerance.

Eligible to apply are natural and legal persons with cultural, social, or other charitable objectives based in Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt. All Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken participating in VR profit-saving may receive funding applications and – upon positive evaluation – forward them to the VR Foundation.
