Welker-Stiftung
About the funder
The Welker Foundation was established as a testamentary legacy by Dr. h.c. Johann W. Welker and his wife Dora Langen in Duisburg. Originally, the focus was on social care for the elderly. With a change to its statutes in 2006, the foundation expanded its objectives and has since also supported science and research, education, and training. Key areas include the promotion of gifted individuals, particularly young scientists, innovative projects in schools and vocational training, new degree programs, as well as studies on values and religious education in politics and society, and research on family structure. The Welker Foundation is a member of the Association of German Foundations.
