Wort und Tat – Stiftung des Evangelisch-Lutherischen Dekanatsbezirks München

Wort und Tat – Foundation of the Evangelical Lutheran Deanery District of Munich is a church foundation under public law based in Munich. Founded in 2007 on the basis of inheritances, the foundation has an endowment capital of €2 million. It primarily supports projects and institutions of the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Munich in the field of social diaconal work. The focus is on assisting elderly, disadvantaged, and disabled people. Wort und Tat grants subsidies from the income of its assets as well as from donations and operates a foundation center that provides advice on estate and testamentary arrangements and manages church sub-foundations. Transparency and control of fund usage are firmly anchored in the statutes.

The Wort und Tat Foundation is entrusted with the mission to confess and shape the Gospel of God's love in diverse ways within the Munich region. It strengthens the framework conditions for ecclesiastical and social-diaconal work, particularly by supporting projects for the elderly, disadvantaged, and disabled. Wort und Tat acts selflessly, pursues charitable and ecclesiastical purposes, and is committed to sustainable, transparent, and responsible use of funds.

Church congregations and ecclesiastical institutions within the Evangelical Lutheran Deanery District of Munich are supported in implementing projects for three priority groups: elderly people, disadvantaged individuals, and people with disabilities. These target groups receive subsidies for services such as transportation for cemetery visits, pastoral care in specialized outpatient palliative care, or integrative housing projects. Applications for funding are open to all congregations and institutions within the deanery district.
