About the funder

The Wüstenrot Foundation – Community of Friends of the German Homeowners' Association e.V., based in Ludwigsburg, is a foundation operating exclusively and directly for charitable purposes. It initiates, designs, and implements its own nationwide operational projects and additionally awards financial grants. Approximately 70% of its budget is allocated to its own foundation projects, while 30% is granted as project-related funding to other domestic non-profit organizations and public institutions. The foundation focuses primarily on the fields of science and research, teaching, education and upbringing, art, monument preservation, as well as the care and preservation of cultural assets. Its goal is the preservation of cultural heritage, the promotion of innovative ideas, and the sustainable development of urban and rural areas.

Mission & Vision

The Wüstenrot Foundation is committed to preserving cultural and scientific heritage in a vibrant way and to making a sustainable contribution to cultural, social, and scientific development in Germany through targeted project funding and its own initiatives. We support outstanding ideas and projects that expand knowledge, strengthen cultural diversity, and promote cohesion in both urban and rural areas.

Target groups

Domestic tax-privileged corporations and public-law institutions are supported, in particular museums, research institutions, educational organizations, cultural organizations, and monument preservation entities. Our funding programs are aimed at project sponsors who wish to implement outstanding, innovative, and sustainable initiatives in the fields of science and research, teaching and education, art, monument preservation, and the preservation of cultural assets.
