Description
The 3-day Climate Challenge, initiated by the Climate Foundation of Kreissparkasse Heilbronn, supports non-profit projects in the city and district of Heilbronn that make a tangible contribution to climate, environmental, or nature conservation within three days. During the action period from July 3 to 5, 2026, funds totaling €33,333 are available from a dedicated grant pool. This competition format is aimed at clubs, schools, and kindergartens and offers the opportunity to implement ideas such as planting tree sponsorships, installing photovoltaic modules, or creating flower meadows for insects. A lottery decision awards the full funding, ensuring that all submitted applications have an equal chance of financial support.
All non-profit organizations based in the city and district of Heilbronn planning a climate protection or environmental education project are eligible to participate. Applications are submitted online between March 3 and 30, 2026, and include a brief project description in three sentences as well as an indication of the expected costs. Proof of non-profit status is not required separately, as the funding rate covers 100% of the project-related expenses. Winners will be notified from May 3, 2026, via the lottery procedure and can start implementation immediately. This format offers non-profit sponsors the opportunity to set sustainable impulses for the region in a short time while receiving financial support without additional own funds.
