Description
5,000 Euro Additional Prize for Environmental and Nature Conservation Projects in Hesse offers non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public bodies, as well as private individuals the opportunity to advance innovative projects in the field of environmental and nature conservation. Through this initiative of the environmental lottery GENAU, a grant of 5,000 euros is awarded weekly to a project selected by the lottery participants. The funding program is aimed at all actors who wish to implement projects that contribute to the preservation and restoration of soil, water, air, plants, and animals. It does not matter whether the initiative takes place within the framework of schools, municipalities, clubs, or other social structures – the essential requirements are a clear environmental focus, a location in Hesse, and the project start or continuation within 12 months of the prize being awarded.
The call for proposals aims to support diverse projects that provide positive impulses for climate and nature protection. The thematic priorities include, in addition to the preservation of natural resources, measures to increase energy efficiency as well as climate protection. A transparent concept must be presented that complies with legal and regulatory requirements and implements the project in its entirety over a period of 12 months. To receive funding, applicants must submit a fully completed questionnaire as well as a signed PDF document. Since repeated submissions are not permitted, special emphasis is placed on compliance with the criteria.
This grant can make important projects a reality and thus make a significant contribution to improving the regional environmental and nature conservation situation. The initiative offers space for creative ideas – from planting trees and maintaining school gardens to restoring bodies of water or unsealing surfaces to preserve natural waterways. Through the additional prize, projects are established that show long-term positive effects on the environment. The continuous funding approach enables flexible and needs-based support, allowing initiators to turn their commitment into concrete actions.
